Welcome to the very first entry of a 3 part series about the ever illustrious tuna fish…and certain fish Pokemon that we’ll get into as we delve deeper into this exciting trilogy!
Today’s tuna recipe is one that has kind of been passed down in my family for a few generations now. I would definitely not say its one of the many “secret recipes” my family is pretty much known for…but it is what I’d call a bit untraditional.
Traditionally, it seems that most Macaroni Salad does one, or more, of the following: 1. Exclude’s tuna fish completely 2. Add sweet relish or 3. Add potato chunks. I could totally understand adding pickles to the mix if they were dill pickles, but I’m not a fan of the whole sweet pickles craze. I’ve also actually heard about adding potato chips to macaroni salad, as well as to tuna salad and tuna fish sandwiches; that would be delicious!
My family’s recipe? It’s a bit of this, handful of that, cup full of this other thing…generally eyeballing each ingredient rather than so much using exactly the same amounts of each ingredient every time it’s made. So, without further ado, lets makes some Tuna Macaroni Salad!
