After the slight “technical glitch” faced by Pokemon Go at launch here in the US was resolved, I was finally able to dive into it!
So far, so good. It’s not quite like the actual Pokemon games I love and adore…but it’ll suffice until Pokemon Sun and Moon finally arrive! Is anyone else as excited as I am for their release? How about the new legendaries? I’m kind of digging the legendary for Pokemon Moon…no one can deny the darkness!
Back on the topic of Pokemon Go; I’ve managed to catch some pretty interesting Pokemon. Here are my top 3 so far:
Squirtel was, and remains, my most surprising catch thus far. I actually caught a second Squirtel about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, I haven’t ran across another one since then. 20 more Squirtle Candies to go before I can evolve it into the glorious Wartortle. Maybe it’ll even become a Blastoise…someday.
The Queen (or king) of bulk! It’s Vaporeon. Though I’ve heard of it happen, I didn’t actually catch this Vaporeon in the wild; It was acquired through an arduous process of catching and trading Evees; those thing DO NOT like to stay in balls! It seems that virtually everyone has a Vaporeon; some people have several, and they’re all super high leveled! Like seriously! Have you noticed that pretty much every single Pokemon Gym in Pokemon Go is headed by a high leveled Vaporeon?! Regardless, I love my Vaporeon! It helped me defeat an Ekans, and become the leader of my closest gym…at least like a minute before another Vamporeon took its place /;
It’s Pikachu’s slightly larger, much more powerful, sibling Raichu! It appears to be much more common to find a Raichu in the wild; though I haven’t gotten so lucky as of it. My Raichu was evolved from Pikachu…which is even more of an annoyance to catch than Evee. Raichu is pretty awesome! I’m hoping to make it my main electric type Pokemon in Pokemon Go…as soon as I can catch more Pikachu’s to power it up…In the meantime, I do have a pretty powerful Jolteon to rely on.
Pokeballs are a bit of a pain point for me in Pokemon Go; there just never really seems to be enough of them. I recently reached a level where I began receiving Great Balls…which don’t really seem to make much difference in catch rates. Some Pokemon in Pokemon Go seem to have developed a bit of a superiority complex *Pidgey* and want to make you “really” work to get them on your team.
What’s your take on Pokemon Go? Love it? Hate it? Unsure?
